President Donald Trump held a rare solo press conference in New York after the United Nations General Assembly.

President Trump is keeping expectations in check in advance of his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to an interview with "CBS Evening News" anchor Jeff Glor. "I go in with low expectations," Mr. Trump said.

It was one year ago Thursday when Robert Mueller, the former FBI director, was appointed as special counsel to take over the Justice Department's investigation into possible coordination between Russia and Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign.

Fired FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe kept memos of his conversations with President Trump and what happened during the firing of former FBI Director James Comey, CBS News' Paula Reid reports. 

Former FBI Director James Comey testified in an open session before of the Senate Intelligence Committee. The testimony began shortly after 10 a.m. ET. A private, closed-door session of the Senate Intel Committee is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET. Comey will be present and questioned during that session as well.
